That was a very satisfying read. Sadly, many of us do not own any land whatsoever to grow our own food but are either housed in apartments and condos, or in detached homes with almost no land. In addition, we see that developers are taking over very good growing land as cities expand. We see many farms that are closing down because they cannot make a living or these farmers are getting older and young people do not want to work in this field. I have read that some of the best land for growing in Canada is where the city of Toronto now sits.

Absolutely. I think this is where bringing in policies that open up land to the commons. Or having land trusts where people who don't own land can participate in production. Another idea is to have folks who aren't maximize their backyards to open it up to others who could farm and share the produce.
