#FieldNotes010: The Metacrisis, Community, & the Spirituality of Stewardship
A conversation with Ilyes Machkor from The New Stewards Podcast
For those who have been following my writing over the last couple of years, you'll notice that I recently began thinking about the metacrisis. I cannot think of a better qualifier for our current global state of affairs. The metacrisis is a convergence of a global tipping point. It is at once a wake-up call, a revelatory flash, a glimmer of hope, and a stark warning.
I recently chatted with Ilyes Machkor, host of the New Stewards Podcast, to discuss the role of spirituality, community, and farming in the midst of the metacrisis.
Together, we explored how these interwoven and entangled global crises call for a spiritually-centred response. The world is about to get much smaller. For that alone, we need to design and establish resilient communities, grounded in an ethic of stewardship.
